Set on an urban infill lot within a downtown that had transformed into a walkable destination, the home was designed to balance the client’s desire for connection and privacy. In keeping with the city’s form based codes, the style loosely followed a tudor eclectic mix of traditional references to allow the layout to fit the client needs within a contemporary setting.
Wrapping around a pool, the primary suite, great room, porte cochere, entry foyer, pool house and garage below create a U shape plan, intersecting two perpendicular axes at the center of the home. The layered entry allowed for a series of ever increasing levels of privacy in moving from the street to the rear of the property, granting the client to realize their dream of having an oasis in the heart of the downtown.
